Its has been proven that learning environment that students should be studying is a vital element to the general learning atmosphere and may contributes to the comfort of studying. But as we can see at Tumaini university ,the Mikocheni campus is the bad example when it comes to the good environment for learning.
The university have bad ventilation system in the classrooms that causes students to sleep in the class and its very hazardous to students health.
Also the nasty and very bad smell that is intolerable from the sewage pipes and septic tanks which are near classrooms makes the studying environment to be very hard ,and sometime a lecturer has to shift the classrooms outside where its better as there is enough air than in a class

Wikipedia Blackout in Anti-Piracy Law Protest
Wikipedia Blackout in Anti-Piracy Law Protest
Wikipedia will black out its
English-language site for 24 hours in protest at proposed US anti-piracy legislation.
If passed, the controversial Stop
Online Piracy Act (Sopa) would give content owners and the US government
the power to request court orders to shut down websites associated with piracy.
Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales said the act threatens the future of
the internet and has said the online encyclopedia site will be shut down from
5am GMT on Wednesday.
Visitors to the site will only be
able to see information about Sopa and the Protect Intellectual Property Act
(Pipa).
The information will urge Wikipedia
readers to contact their local congressman to vote against the bills.
Other sites leading the campaign
include Reddit.com and Cheezburger.
"This is a quite clumsily
drafted legislation which is dangerous for an open Internet," Wales said
in an interview.
The move to black out the site was
decided by voting within the Wikipedia community of writers and editors who
manage the free service, Wales said.
The English language Wikipedia
receives more than 25 million average daily visitors from around the world.
The Sopa legislation, under
consideration in the House of Representatives, aims to crack down on online
sales of pirated American movies, music or other goods by forcing internet
companies to block access to foreign sites offering material that violates US
copyright laws.
Supporters argue the bill is
unlikely to have an impact on US-based websites.
US advertising networks could also
be required to stop online ads, and search engines would be barred from
directly linking to websites found to be distributing pirated goods.
Along with other Internet companies
such as Yahoo (NasdaqGS: YHOO
- news)
, Facebook, Twitter and eBay, it has run advertisements in major newspapers
urging Washington lawmakers to rethink their approach.
White House officials raised
concerns on Saturday about Sopa saying they believe it could make businesses on
the internet vulnerable to litigation and harm legal activity and free speech.
In response, Sopa supporter News
Corp chief executive Rupert Murdoch said on Twitter: "So Obama has
thrown in his lot with Silicon Valley paymasters who threaten all software
creators with piracy, plain thievery."
Depressions
Depressions
Medically depression is a mental disorder that
is characterized by a severe low mood, low self-esteem,and a loss of interest or
pleasure in things or initially enjoyed.
The
symptoms of depressions last over a long period.
Depression
is thought to contribute to 50 per cent of suicides, affecting about 5-10 per
cent of all women and 2-5 per cent of all men.
It
affects males and females of all races, income brackets, ages, ethnicities and
religious backgrounds. It is, however, twice as common in women as in men.
Signs
and symptoms of clinical depression
Clinical
depression is not a depressed mood that one feels for a day or so, the symptoms
of actual depression last from weeks to months, and if left untreated, even
years. These symptoms include:
- Very low mood
- inability to experience pleasure in things previously enjoyed like work or a hobby
- feelings of worthlessness, severe guilt and regret, hopelessness and self-hatred
- poor concentration
- reduced libido
- insomnia or sleeping too much
- lack of appetite leading to weight loss or over eating leading to weight gain
- tendency to isolate oneself from family and friends
- in extreme cases, one may experience hallucinations (seeing and hearing things that are not there, such as dead people) or delusions (strong belief about something, such as that everyone is out to get you)
- thoughts of death and suicide
- headaches, tiredness, constipation, or other unspecific symptoms
- Depression is likely to lead to difficulty performing daily activities. One may not care enough to get out of bed, get dressed, go to work or socialize.
Men
and women sometimes show depression differently. Men may experience
irritability, sleep problems, fatigue and loss of interest in activities they
liked previously, whereas women tend to have over sadness
and
feelings of worthlessness and guilt when depressed.
Diagnosis
Diagnosis
of clinical depression may be made by any primary health care physician or a
mental health specialist such as a psychiatrist or psychologist, and does not
require specialised tests.
Tests,
however, may be carried out to rule out other underlying causes of the
depression, such as a thyroid disorder.
Treatment
Treatment
for depression is very individualized and must begin as soon as diagnosis is
made to ensure quality of life of the individual.
Treatment
includes psychotherapy (counseling either individually or in a group by a
mental health specialist), medication such as antidepressants, and in severe
cases, further specialized care.
Treatment
may continue for several months to a year, and each patient must fully
understand this to benefit from the treatment prescribed.
Underlying
risk factors such as substance abuse, chronic medical conditions and other
situations would also need to be addressed.
Finally, there are some lifestyle changes that may be undertaken along with treatment, such as:
